First Book Signing

I wasn’t sure what to expect with my first book signing, but I was happy to support a brand-new indie bookstore in Upland, California, about 15 minutes from my house. Morgan at Morgan’s Books has been so easy to work with and provided a great location for my debut signing.

Cool dragon backdrop!

On Saturday I set up a table with a sign, bookmarks, a zine to take and fold, as well as numbers to draw from a bowl. Each number represented a page in the book, and then I read you a section from that page.

Let’s say you picked page 97. Here’s what it says. Kyra is learning to fix watches.
“Mr. Horace’s voice in her head said patience! With a calming exhale she continued putting the pieces together. When she tried to force the main spring into the place the voice in her head said slow! Kyra put her hands in her lap. If I break this now my work will be wasted. Ma wherever you are I am determined to find you she whispered.”

I was thrilled that so many of my friends showed up to support me and have me sign their copies of my book. They also got to see a new bookstore not far away, so it was a win-win.

I have a few more signings coming up. I will be at the 2026 Claremont Authors Event at the Claremont Helen Renwick Library on Saturday, Sept. 19 from 10-noon.

Sunday, Sept. 6 from 1-3 I’ll be in San Diego at Through the Fold Bookstore with other authors.

Saturday, Sept. 12 from 11-1 I’ll be at TBR Books in Claremont.

Other signings are in the works. I am happy to meet and talk to readers and other writers, and I hope to have more opportunities to do so in the upcoming months.
