National Library Week

In honor of National Library Week, here are some libraries I’ve been to, and some I visit regularly.

First, here is the first library I went to as a child in Hyde Park in Chicago. The Blackstone branch of the Chicago Public Library.

A few weeks ago I got a library card at the Los Angeles Public Library in DTLA. I highly recommend the book called The Library Book about the fire in the library as well as the history. This photo is from the Children’s Room.

One January we visited the New York Public Library, the one with the lions in the front.

A famous library is in St. Gallen, Switzerland.

Closer to home, the A. K. Smiley Public Library in Redlands is a jewel.

And this is the library I walk to every week, the Claremont Helen Renwick Library, a branch of the Los Angeles County Library system.

This week I have been posting more photos of these and other libraries on my Instagram @turicum_tales.

Libraries are as important to me as life and love. What are your favorite libraries? Leave a comment below.
